When studying at the UdK Berlin Carsten Daerr joined up with the German-Finnish singer Kristiina Tuomi in setting to music sonnets by Shakespeare. Having started as vocal and piano duo, shortly with additional cello, the trio is now completed by the Portuguese bass player Carlos Bica (by Carlos Bica on bass). Tuomi’s music is elegiac and sinister at the same time, developing from the original Kunstlied towards improvised music, jazz and folksong. The trio performs internationally on behalf of the Goethe Institut.
